Finding Real Support at Last: My First Assessment with Able2B

After being repeatedly let down by the NHS, I finally reached the point where I had no choice but to look elsewhere for help that actually works. That search led me to Able2B. It is not free like the NHS, but free is no good if it is not helping you. I contacted them, arranged an assessment and hoped for the best. I had my assessment today (Friday 28th November 2025) and it was truly amazing. Exhilarating is the only word that describes it. Everything was completely person centred and focused on helping you become the best version of yourself. For the first time in a very long time I felt seen, understood and properly supported. ✍️ Reframing Limitations I didn’t choose tactical living. It was either that, or collapse. Two weeks after regaining consciousness from brain surgery, I knew life would never return to what it was. I’d survived a subarachnoid haemorrhage — the result of a ruptured brain aneurysm — and the aftermath was brutal. I couldn’t walk. I’d lost sight in my left eye, most of my hearing, and my speech was compromised. My memory was fractured, my cognition unpredictable. And layered beneath it all was combat-related PTSD, tangled with Fibromyalgia and Functional Neurological Disorder — each diagnosis amplifying the next. The effects were extreme.
